How it is made16 boulders across a 2.6x size range, each faceted rather than shaded: a mid body, a lighter plane on the north arc and a dark plane on the east arc. Both facets are cut from the arc of the outline itself; written as fixed quads they poked out past the silhouette wherever the jittered radius came up short. Flat planes read as rock at 144px where a gradient reads as a balloon, and all the contact shadows share one blurred group so they cost a single filter.
