How it is madeTwo coats: a flat 55% coat over the whole band, then a fractal-noise-masked full coat on top of it. One coat cannot be right, alphaNoiseF always centres on about half coverage, so a single masked layer gives bare patches and there is no bare-wall colour available. The noise runs at baseFrequency 0.16, about seven units: the first build used 0.035 and came back as a smoky band, because a roller leaves ORANGE PEEL and 30-unit blobs are cloud. Then five nap streaks along the direction of travel, two lap ridges just inside the edges, and 110 spatter dots thinning away from the band.
