A painterly block of colour behind type, or a swatch that looks mixed rather than picked.

How it is madeOne wide slab down the middle of the blade with thirteen tint streaks over it in five greens. The first build was thirteen separate bands and came back as a bundle of string, every band tapered at both ends, so the card showed through everywhere and the one tool that lays paint down as a MASS had no mass in it. The loose strands are all at the outer edges now, which is where a knife actually skips, and the three that stop short and resume as islands leave real gaps rather than a painted-in background. A lighter ridge along the top edge is the bead the blade pushed ahead of itself.
