Over a poster or a map to say it was folded into quarters and opened out. Very cheap way to make flat art physical.

How it is madeTwo crease bands, each a long hexagon tapering to a point at both ends, filled with a gradient running across it: shadow at 34% on one side, highlight at 40% on the other, both reaching zero at the band edges. The taper is what fades the crease along its length, and it is the missing taper that gives a fake fold away, since a rectangle stops dead at the frame. The band is 3.4% of the box wide, not the 10% it started at: at 10% this rendered as a polished chrome cross, because a fold only disturbs a few millimetres of stock. The contrast is then pushed harder than a real crease so that it survives the 144px card.
