How it is madeFour eggs in their shells with five darts between, a bead-and-reel below and a fillet above. The egg is a real ovoid, x = rx sin theta times (1 + 0.12 cos theta), which puts the widest point above the middle; a plain ellipse here reads as a row of beads. Modelled in three flat tones offset up and left rather than with a gradient, the way carved stone separates in a raking light. The dart is stone over a slightly fatter dark copy with a groove down it, because the first pass drew it in the same mid tone as the shell beside it and it disappeared. The cast shadow is a blurred copy of the same geometry drawn at an offset in the coordinates, because this renderer ignores filter offsets.
