How it is madeTwo cords on the same sine out of phase, each drawn as three parallel lines at 1.00, 0.68 and 0.36 of the amplitude rather than one thick line, because the openings between the lines are the pattern. A two-colour ring sits on each of the eight pinch points. The whole pair is phase-shifted a quarter period so no crossing lands on the edge of the box: a ring there would hang outside, and an annulus cannot be trimmed by the polygon clip without losing the winding that punches its hole. Line weight set the size of the piece: three lines a cord at 4.2 units on a 460 box is about 1.4 px on the library card, and any more lines than that turn the band into a grey bar.
