How it is madeFive concentric registers on exact rotational symmetry: 16 rim pips, a gold ring, 12 outer petals, a terracotta ring, 12 inner petals and a centre. The inner ring is offset half a step from the outer one, which is the point of the piece; two rings of petals in phase read as one thick ring and the rosette goes flat. Petals are lens ribbons with a sine width profile rather than paired Beziers, so the fullness is one number.
